After our trip to Las Vegas we had 1 day to explore the city of Angels Los Angeles. With this we had to be decisive on what to see and do in this large city with many attractions.
One Day Summary
7am-8am: After having breakfast in the hotel near LAX (International airport) we drove directly to Hollywood and Sunset Blvd. Tip: The traffic in Los Angeles in unlike anything I have every seen and therefore you should plan your journey wisely.
8am-10am: Hollywood.
The famous Star path is a great place to visit and whilst this neighbourhood is far from glamorous it still has a fantastic vibe. My dad was a huge fan of Phil Collins so I had to get a picture with it.
10am-11:30am: No Journey in Hollywood is complete without visiting the famous Hollywood sign or at least have a picture from the several viewpoints around the city. We decided to visit the The Griffith Observatory which not only offers the fantastic viewpoint but also a fantastic attraction.
12pm-1pm: Lunch- Korean Cuisine Whilst on a walk around the city we were presented with a Korean food stand that was promoting healthy living through healthy food. With this this took full advantage and received free lunch.
1pm-3pm- Beverley Hills. This is also another famous neighbourhood of Hollywood probably made famous by the 90210 TV programme which is the zip code of the area.
5pm-7pm: Santa Monica beach and Pier were next on the journey and they didn’t disappoint. This part of the day was highly enjoyable and one of the main highlights. What a fantastic place!
7pm-8pm: Having a friend here in Santa Monica he took me to his local pub Ye Old Kings Head which is minutes away from the pier. We enjoyed a couple of pints and sat outside and enjoyed the evening sun.
8pm-9pm: Across the road on the same street is a fantastic burger place that we thoroughly enjoyed.
9pm: Only 12 hours later we were exhausted and had to drive to our hotel in Oxnard on our journey north to San Fransisco. The journey lasted just over 1 hour which ensured we escaped the possible traffic in the city in the morning. Overall a fantastic place with so many things to do we didn’t really do it justice but at least we seen the main parts in a whirlwind tour.
